CF Storage Unit Guidelines, January 2006 The new storage unit at the Canterbury Faire site is intended for use primarily by the Barony of Southron Gaard for its own Faire-related equipment and for private individuals -- particularly those from outside the Barony -- who may wish to keep heavy, awkward or bulky gear on-site between events. Site rental costs owed to the Waipara Riverside Park will be paid as required by Southron Gaard and a portion recovered by storage charges for private individuals who use the unit, in line with the outline below. The officer responsible for managing the storage will be clearly identified ahead of each event; by default this will be the SG Constable. This storage officer has reasonable discretion in interpreting the guidelines, with any concerns arising to be referred to a subsequent SG Council meeting. * All items are stored entirely at their owner's risk * Individual Items or bags MUST be clearly labelled with the owner's name and email/phone contact details * Small items must be bagged, labelled and stored in the stackable, lidded 60-litre bins provided * Storage must be paid for before items are put into storage, at the rates below (subject to availability): $20/yr for a complete 60-litre bin $10/yr for a bag occupying half or less of a 60-litre bin $10/yr for a single large item (e.g. a shield, a pole weapon), $20/yr for three * Larger quantities/bulk storage should be pre-arranged with the SG Council where possible, otherwise negotiable at the Constable's discretion * Any sub-letting of a full-storage-bin rental is to be managed by the person renting the bin, not by SG itself * The storage unit will be unlocked near the start of an event and remain open for its entire duration; NO other access control or security is guaranteed during an event, although the storage officer may choose to lock it at night if they see fit * The unit will be locked between events except when accessed by SG officers or at their request * If items are put into storage and not retrieved before their rental term expires, SG will attempt to determine and contact the owner to discover their intentions and, if necessary, seek further payment. If the owner cannot be contacted, the items will become the property of the Barony and most likely be auctioned or otherwise disposed of at a subsequent event at the site. [Expectation: most people in such a case would promise to pay at the next event, and this would be accepted in practise -- though discouraged, perhaps by a 25% penalty or some such. Some people would just not be contactable, and their stuff would get cleared out as soon as space became short or clutter too excessive]. Draft Rental form/label (this may end up in the form of a log book entry, so long as item labels can be clearly tied to log entries, e.g. via a unique number): Name: ________________________________________ SCA Name: ____________________________________ Email: _________________________________________ Tel (please include country/area code): ______________ Storage paid until: Storage details: [ ] 60 litre bin @ $20/yr [ ] Part of a 60 litre bin @ $10/yr [ ] Large items at $10/item/yr, $20/yr for three -- number of items: ____ [ ] Other (e.g. bulk equipment) for $_____ - please specify items below: _____________________________________ _____________________________________ (etc) I agree that the goods I am placing in storage are being stored entirely at my own risk, and will not hold the Barony of Southron Gaard, its officers or SCA (NZ) Inc. responsible for any loss or damage which might arise. If the goods are not retrieved or further storage fees paid when the storage period has expired, I agree that the Barony, after making reasonable efforts to notify me, has the right to dispose of them as it sees fit.
