Finally worked out how to use Microsoft Money in conjunction with Westpac's internet banking interface, so I can now do the books on computer instead of doing them all by hand. HERALD: Apologies. No report. MARSHAL: - Sent quarterly report. - Had regular practices all month, strangely we had more people at practice after CF than before, which is unusual. - Got a few people getting their armour together and wanting to authorize. - Has anyone seen the large black bag that the baronial list barrier used to live in? It had a pocket containing the wedges that are used to hold it together? Otherwise I'll make a new one. - Planning on making a nice lists tree for Queens Champion. I'll be asking everyone interested in entering to make a list shield, the same dimensions as the standard heraldic submission form. There will be spare shields on the day. I'll also make up some blanks to hand out to any who may need them. - Also planning some oak marshals poles. CAPTAIN OF ARCHERS: - Apologies for being unable to attend council on time this year - I'm teaching an evening class at CPIT Tuesday evenings which (officially) doesn't finish til 8.30pm. - Regular Sunday afternoon practices have been going on as usual, assisted by improving weather over the past month. We've had ~5-8 archers at each practice this past month. - We do have a concern over the state of the barony's arrow/bolt stocks. Thanks to Lady Emma for organising an archery gear maintenance session at this Saturday's Library thing. Am ordering a large store of nocks, points and fletches for us to repair arrows and contruct bolts from broken arrows. - Started plotting shoots for BA. I think this time we'll do a vanilla Royal round for the Championship, with something weird for a novelty prize competition. - The baronial crossbow is still in for repair, and HE Bartholomew's crossbow needs rebinding. Am aiming to to get these back in working order for the crossbow competition at BA. - As I'm finding mundanity chewing up considerably more of my time, it may be useful if I have a deputy to step in from time to time. Ld James has hence graciously agreed to take up the position of Archery Lieutenant. CAPTAIN OF RAPIER: Apologies. Nothing to report. A&S: - Communication with B&B about A&S stuff night ideas - Emailed information out about BA A&S competition - Organised/emailed about March A&S class on belt making - Submitted quarterly report. CHRONICLER: - Due to the large amount of information, the March edition of FTT was slightly delayed. However it was the biggest one I have put out so far at 24 pages. - And I have submissions for next month already as well WEBWRIGHT: - Usual updates for SG and Otago sites. - Added a brief CF history to traditions page; it's currently missing some info on stewards for certain years (need relevant FTTs or feedback from populace). - Will upload more CF shots soon, photo gallery wasn't allowing uploads for a while but Lord William de Cameron has fixed it. - Lord Daniel's calendar software nearly done, now in testing. - Advised Web Ministers' list regarding recommended legal boilerplate. CHIRURGEON: Nothing to report. CONSTABLE: Apologies. Nothing to report. QUARTERMASTER: - Happy to report all inventory moved from Peregrine and Emayn's dwelling and now safely stored in my stable. - Inventory of all articles not yet undertaken however (from the volume) it would appear a rather minor task. I can undertake this (with assistance from my Lady) over the next couple of weeks and present a full list at next meeting. - There does appear to be approximately 2 boxes of perishables that could be passed into the hands of those identified as appropriately deserving. I will bring these with me to tomorrow night's meeting and anything left to "stuff night" next week. - Some baskets and boxes are disintegrating so will also access requirements (while undertaking inventory) and report back to committee. B&B: Attended usual things: singing, seamsters, Stuff night, one or two FPs. After some experimentation with various award token designs for Coeur Loyal and Tour D'Or Baronial awards, we recently found that both awards actually have blazons registered with the College of Heralds. This is now properly documented in the relevant part of the SG website and the Herald has been informed. We are now making award tokens to match the blazons and will progressively hand these out to new and previous awardees as the tokens are produced. Correspondence: - with Seneschals of SG, Canton and St Kessog re: upcoming events, recruiting etc. - with Seneschal and A&S officer re: BA Challenge - with SCANZ re: insurance, publications policy and steel-embassy idea for CF We have been trying to locate two nicely-bound volumes of FTT issues covering the 1990s - if anyone has seen these volumes since they left Lady Elizabeta's hands as librarian, please get in touch with us or Lady Emma. EVENT REPORTS: JULY CORONATION: More than 80 bookings received so far, with about 10% from Terra Rosa. The event appears to have passed its break-even point. High Tea will be full soon, everything else has good capacity but booking soon is a Good Idea - rates go up a bit on Friday. Planning meeting and other work in February has set most key elements in place, apart from mainly ceremonial issues which must await the result of May Crown. Lots of decoration-preparation work is in progress (mainly for Hort Hall/Feast). Minor venue changes: * Friday revel will now be at Crown Masonic Lodge in Sydenham, allowing for the fact that there will be two peerage vigils as part of that evening, therefore a small Court. * Great Hall have reduced the side-room space on offer. * Hort Hall (Feast) have added a side room for changing, etc. * Sign of the Takahe has offered more facilities than we expected, including an open bar during the tourney, with mulled wine and possibly cider. BARONIAL ANNIVERSARY: Spit Roast has been booked. Site is confirmed. There is a hall in case of wet weather. GENERAL BUSINESS: POPULACE SURVEY: The Baronial Populace survey is now underway. Details can be found at: http://sg.sca.org.nz/survey.htm EVENT PROPOSALS: A general call to anyone interested in running events. We have Yule approaching, which is traditionally held in June. Canterbury Faire bids are also being accepted, with May being the earliest time a bid can be accepted. They will get back to us later with more details. TABLE FRONTAL PROJECT: Anabillia is working on the table frontal for Coronation. She has itemised a list of materials of $111.05. All in favour of buying the materials for the project. MEETING CLOSED 8:07PM.
